Chapter 3: The need for law

Law is a primal need, after food and shelter, and it is the foundation of freedom.

Take a look at societies without law

You need law for protection from crime

And to enforce contracts

How much business would you do with someone you couldn’t sue in the courts, e.g. a bankrupt person in Somalia?

No law means no commerce.
No commerce means we all live in poverty.

How will you be safe and free if the state can’t enforce law anymore?
How will you earn a living if people don’t know whether they can trust you?
